Himachali Dishes
Himachal is a land of gods known for it lush green forests and Sky touching mountains, But it is also known for its appetizing food. There are number of local restaurants and local dhabas who offer a delicious traditional food for their customers. So if you are in Himachal , Don't miss an opportunity to eat these traditional dishes.
Here I'm going to mention few Himachali dishes which you can ask for in any traditional restaurant or dhaba :
1. Himachali Siddu & Ghee
This is one of my personal favoirite dishes. This dish is famous in upper Himachal region specifically in Shimla region. Siddu & Ghee (Clarified Butter) dish
This popular Himachali Dish is mostly prepared in winters. It is very helpful to keep our body warm in winters stuffed with sesame seed and most of the people in upper shimla region use marijuana seeds stuffing as well to get themselves warm in winters. You can also cook it at your home by following my cooking tips ↓🔰🔰
Ingredients :
300 gm Wheat Flour
400 gm sesame seed/marijuana seeds/Poppy Seed
5 gm Turmeric powder
5 gm Baking soda
2 table spoon salt
Method
1. Take 300 gm flour in a bowl and mix 5 gm baking soda in it. Mix it well and leave it for 3-4 hours.
2. Boil 400 gm sesame seed in a pan and make a paste of it in mixer add sald as per taste.
Add turmeric powder. If it is marijuana seed then you can simply srush it in a mixer and add Jaggery (gud) in it.
3. Spread 2 table spoon of sesame paste stuffing and paste it over the center of the dough circle.
4. Fold the dough and your Siddu is ready to get steamed.
5. Then place Siddu in a steamer and cook for 25 minutes.
6. Enjoy your Siddu meal with Ghee ( clarified butter)
